A dash of hope, a touch of care. The road to being you...

Diagnosis

T he initial consultation with your psychologist is the first step towards understanding your concerns. During this time-limited period, typically one to two sessions, the psychologist gathers detailed information about your symptoms and issues through structured interviews with you and your caregivers. This includes developmental, medical, psychiatric, and family history to establish a provisional diagnosis based on criteria from the ICD-10 or DSM-5.

The consultation focuses on providing information rather than therapeutic intervention. If further assessments are needed following the consultation, you and your family will be informed accordingly. After the consultation, if you decide to proceed with therapy, your psychologist will explain the type of therapy, its course, and other treatment protocols. If your psychologist determines that another specialist or service is more appropriate for your needs, they will provide referrals accordingly.

Assessment

At times, better understanding your or your child’s needs requires a more in-depth evaluation. Based on the concerns shared during the consultation, your psychologist may recommend one or more types of assessments. These assessments help gather detailed insights and are tailored to each individual’s unique situation. Depending on your needs, the assessments may fall into one of the following categories or combination of them:

Developmental Assessment

T his type of assessment is generally recommended for young children (typically ages 0–12). It looks at your child’s growth and development across different areas—such as emotional, social, cognitive, and language skills. Information is collected through interviews with caregivers, observations, rating scales, and age-appropriate tasks or activities. Developmental assessments help identify early delays or concerns and are often used to support school readiness or intervention planning.

Psychological / Diagnostic Assessment

T his type of evaluation is used to understand whether a child, adolescent, or adult meets the criteria for a mental health diagnosis. It involves gathering information from various sources—such as caregivers, teachers, and the individual themselves—through structured clinical interviews, standardized rating forms, clinician administered task based direct assessments, and behavioural observations in a clinical setting.

These assessments are important for clarifying diagnostic concerns, guiding treatment plans, and may also help in seeking support or accommodations at school, colleges, work or other settings.

Psychoeducational Assessment

T his assessment is often recommended for school-aged children and adolescents who may be struggling with learning or academic performance. It explores how underlying mental processes—such as memory, attention, language, or problem-solving—are affecting your child’s functioning. Along with gathering information from multiple sources, this type of evaluation typically includes formal testing of intellectual abilities (IQ) and academic skills (reading, writing, math, etc.).

Psychoeducational assessments help identify learning disabilities, guide individualized education plans (IEPs), and provide insight into how best to support your child’s learning style and strengths.

If any assessments are required, your psychologist will discuss this with you post the initial consultation, including any additional costs.

Please note that as assessments unfold, new information may come to light, and additional testing may be suggested to arrive at a clear understanding. Throughout the process, your psychologist will keep you informed and involved in decision-making.

Whether addressing specific mental health concerns, navigating life transitions, or pursuing personal growth, therapy offers a structured and confidential space within a professional framework to foster insight, emotional regulation, and adaptive coping.

Our approach draws from a range of therapeutic modalities—including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Play-based, and Trauma-informed approaches—and is delivered by specialists with extensive clinical experience across developmental stages and diagnostic profiles.

Grounded in clinical expertise and a deep understanding of individual and family systems, we offer collaborative, tailored care to help clients explore their inner world, strengthen relationships, and enhance overall functioning and quality of life.

Individual Therapy

I f you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need someone to talk to without judgment, individual therapy offers a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Through weekly 45–50 minute sessions, we help you gain insight, manage symptoms, and work toward lasting change. Therapy can support you in setting goals, navigating life transitions, improving relationships, and building emotional resilience.

Therapy for Children

C hildren may struggle with managing emotions, forming friendships, following rules, or adjusting to changes.

Using age-appropriate play-based methods—including toys, art, and games—we help children express themselves, understand their feelings, and build skills for better emotional and social functioning.

Sessions are tailored to the child’s age, development, and unique needs. Parent involvement is an essential part of the process, with periodic family sessions to support growth at home.

Therapy for Adolescents

Teen years can be confusing and overwhelming. Challenges such as academic stress, peer pressure, identity issues, mood swings, and social anxiety often show up during this time.

Teen therapy provides a confidential, supportive space to help your adolescent express themselves, manage emotions, and develop healthy coping skills.

With guidance, teens can build self-confidence, improve relationships, and gain clarity about who they are and who they want to become.

Parenting Support

Parenting can be joyful—but also deeply challenging. You may find yourself unsure of how to respond to your child’s needs, behaviours, or emotional outbursts.

Parenting sessions are designed to empower you with tools and insights to strengthen your relationship with your child, understand developmental milestones, set boundaries with empathy, and feel more confident in your role as a caregiver.

This support is included in child therapy and also available as a stand-alone service.

Therapy for Adults

Adults often seek therapy for a variety of reasons—stress, anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma, grief, or challenges in relationships or work-life balance.

Therapy can also support personal growth and self-awareness.

We’ll work together to explore your experiences, identify patterns, and develop strategies to help you feel more in control, confident, and fulfilled in your daily life.

Couple Therapy

Couple therapy provides a structured and supportive space for partners to explore relationship challenges, improve communication, and strengthen emotional connection. Whether you’re facing conflict, life transitions, or a sense of distance in your relationship, therapy can help both partners better understand each other’s needs, patterns, and perspectives.

Through guided conversations and evidence-based interventions, couples can learn healthier ways to manage disagreements, rebuild trust, and deepen intimacy. Therapy is suitable for couples at any stage—whether dating, married, or navigating separation—with a focus on fostering mutual respect and long-term relational well-being.

Family Therapy

Families go through many transitions, and sometimes relationships within the family become strained or disconnected. Family therapy helps improve communication, rebuild trust, and work through conflicts together.

We focus on understanding each family member’s perspective, building empathy, and creating healthier patterns of interaction. Family therapy is especially valuable when working with children or adolescents, as it reinforces progress made in individual sessions.

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your whole family, we’re here to walk alongside you on your journey to greater connection, clarity, and well-being.
