Clinical Psychologist
Dr MONALISA PALIT, Ph.D, is a licensed practitioner with a specialisation in child and adolescent mental health issues and developmental disabilities with over 20 years of experience. She is currently engaged as a senior consultant with Vimhans hospital, New Delhi, India.
In the course of her career she has come into contact with diverse population whose learning and social-emotional functioning levels covered a wide spectrum. She has provided therapy for individuals and families on clinical and non-clinical issues including but not limiting to psychiatric conditions like depression, anxiety, conduct problems and personality issues. She has an eclectic approach to psychotherapy, which allows her to fit each client’s needs uniquely.
In addition, she has administered, scored, and interpreted a wide range of standardised psychological scales for diagnosis and treatment planning especially for families with children with Autism, ADHD, SLD and ID. The success she has found with her clients is due to her deep sense of empathy and care while providing objective feedback.
Furthermore, she conducts workshops for schools, NGOs and corporates on wide range of topics varying from awareness building to clinical training. The clinical topics include autism, ADHD, Specific Learning Disability, depression, anxiety et cetera and nonclinical topics include enhancing life skills such as time management, goals setting, communication and coping skills, career counselling.
She provides clinical supervision to post masters clinical psychology students and junior colleagues.
Prior to working in India, she had been involved in teaching undergraduate student at University of Sydney, Australia.
